Answering the Call
Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.
Reading: Matthew 9:37-38, Isaiah 6:8
Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.
The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. This sobering reality calls us to action. As you read these verses, listen for God's call on your life. Are you willing to say, "Here am I, send me"? Reflect on the excuses you might be making that prevent you from fully engaging in God's mission. Whether it's fear, feeling unqualified, or simply being too busy, bring these concerns to God in prayer. Ask Him for the courage and strength to step out in faith. Today, make a commitment to be available and obedient to wherever God might be calling you to serve in His harvest field.
What excuses have you made that prevent you from fully engaging in God’s mission? Are you willing to say, "Here am I, send me"?
Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…

Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…
- Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
- Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: Lord, I hear Your call. Remove any fear, doubt, or distraction that holds me back. Give me the courage to step out in faith and serve wherever You lead. Amen.
- Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.
